FOR THE 2010 SEASON THE
FOLLOWING AGE GROUPS WILL APPLY AS PER FIFA AND FFA RULING:
UNDER 7 PLAYERS BORN 1ST JANUARY 2003 TO 31ST DECEMBER 2003 =================================================== 2009 SSFA POLICY – GRADING / PLAYING & ROOBALL ================================================================ 2009 SSFA Grading Policy for U6-U10 Where possible, players should be selected into teams of like ability. This selection should be based on grading through the playing of SSG and, where applicable, skill based drills (generally relating to movement, dribbling and passing/receiving/striking). Clubs should then rate the selected teams in each age group by playing ability and apply to have them enter a playing group that is commensurate with that team's playing ability -this is done via the regular SSFA grading process. To assist in creating further flexibility to ensure teams are, where possible, playing against teams of like ability the SSFA has removed the Zone boundaries that existed in 2008, will be recording scores and will continue to provide the scope for clubs to re-grade players and teams independently of the SSFA and also with the assistance of the SSFA. For further information please contact Gary Lockwood coaching@shirefootball.com ============================================================== 2009 SSFA Policy on Playing Rooball/SSG It is the policy of the SSFA for players eligible to play Rooball/SSG to play in their correct age group to ensure that, where possible, players are participating in games that are commensurate with their football skill development and physical development. There will be some exemptions to this policy and these exemptions are left to the discretion of clubs and should be treated on a case by case basis. Some exemption examples; 1. Players who assist their club by playing in a non Rooball/SSG team to satisfy a balance of player numbers in teams. 2. A player who has, historically, played out of their age group. Requests to play out of Rooball/SSG age groups for the sole purpose of not participating in Rooball/SSG DO NOT comply with policy exemption. It is important that all clubs adhere to this policy to ensure consistency of approach across the Association. For further information please contact Gary Lockwood coaching@shirefootball.com =============================================================== Published 12 Feb 2009
