Finals weekend has seen a record 8 teams advance into this years Grand Finals.
Congratulations to our 12D's, 12C's, Minor Premier W12B's, Minor Premier 12A's, Minor Premier 16A's, 18Bs who've set up a Super Six Grand Final Saturday this weekend. All six teams are a massive chance to become Champions this weekend.
It's an amazing result with four 12's teams making the Grand Final in their first year of competition football, their coaches, managers and families must be so proud of their achievements already this season. "We're so proud of all our Saturday teams" said Magpies President PJ at this clubhouse yesterday afternoon.
"They've all done a tremendous job, our 12A's, W12B's and 16A's all picked up Minor Premierships and they were all undefeated, just an amazing result."
"Our 12C's came second and upset Loftus to progress to the Grand Final, they'll have to do it again but what a fantastic result."
"Our 12D's were in the closest competition you've probably ever seen. One forfeit loss after accidentally borrowing from the wrong grade saw them slip from 1st contention to 4th and almost out of the finals. They dug in, got the results in the final weeks, came second and lost the first semi on a draw. They are a massive chance".
"Our 18B's, what can you say about these boys. Came third, good result, beat Marton 4-1 in a huge game, then back it up against Bosco the next week, winning 3-2. Gymea were clear 1st but if anyone is going to beat them in the final, it's this Miranda team. They just never give up."
After a horror Sunday yesterday, which saw all our teams suffer heavy losses, except our AL3/2's who won 6-1 over our AL3/1's we have just two Senior Teams in the Grand Final.
Our undefeated Minor Premier SWA1's will again take on St Patricks in the decider. They've had another stellar season and we're hopeful they can get the result along with our AL3/2's who joined the Magpies this season and take on Bosco in their final.
