TRAINING – WET WEATHER PROCEDURE FOR WEEKDAYS/TRAINING

Sutherland Shire Council operates a wet weather line recorded message for information on ground closures. From Monday to Friday inclusive, all grounds are under direct control of the council.
The Sutherland Shire Council Wet Weather Line: 02 9710 0105.

During wet weather if Sutherland Shire Council CLOSES the grounds, we will post this asap at the top of our website page.

NO TRAINING IS PERMITTED.

Council officers may fine offending clubs up to $2000 - if any team is training on the ground when it is closed. MMFC will not wear these costs and they will need to be paid by the offending team/s.

During weekdays MMFC will sometimes make a decision to close our grounds, due to our own fields individual circumstances.
This information will be posted to the website and the fields and club house will also be closed, sometimes there will be a note on the club house doors. Please check the website prior to turning up for training if there has been rain.

Look for alternative training options and venues.

Some examples are indoor centers such as CBC Sports or Sports World or 5 Sports.
Miranda Park, the hills are great for fitness training and there is a flat area behind the pre-school off the Boulevarde. Sylvania Athletics Track for sprint and fitness training.

On weekends, grounds come under the control of the SSFA.

WEEKEND GAMES - WET WEATHER PROCEDURE FOR GAME DAYS

AFTER HEAVY RAIN ON FRIDAY, FRIDAY NIGHT OR DURING THE WEEKEND, GROUND INSPECTORS INSPECT THE HOME GROUNDS BY 6:30AM AND NOTIFY THE SSFA TO ADVISE THE CONDITION OF THE FIELDS.

The SSFA will make a decision to play or not to play on any or all fields, dependent on which club fields are open.
The SSFA will then SMS all wet weather officers and advise them of their decision, usually before 7:15am.

This will be posted onto the SSFA website www.shirefootball.com.au

PLEASE DO NOT PHONE OR FACEBOOK MESSAGE US.

Some volunteers are still asleep, we don't want to wake them, they'll be helping your kids later today. The ground inspectors will notify us and we'll post to our website and Facebook page as soon as we know. If games are moved, teams affected will be contacted, notifying them of the change in venue and sometimes change in time. If all fields are called out and the day is cancelled, SSFA & MMFC will post this information to the web site and Facebook page as soon as physically possible.

SSFA will post details on their web site as soon as possible. www.shirefootball.com.au

MMFC will post details to our web site www.mirandamagpies.com

If your team has an early game, eg. 8:00am you may not receive information in time. If you haven't heard it's off, then head to your game and keep watching our website and Facebook pages.
