8th Team Into Grand Final

The Magpies had a tougher weekend last weekend with two teams advancing out of the 7 who played.

W14C's kicked it off with a remarkable 2-1 Victory, scoring a great goal before halftime and leading most of the 2nd half before a late goal tied the match.

As the lower placed team a draw wasn't going to be enough and a fantastic goal with 5 minutes to go helped secure the win and a Grand Final against 1st placed Engadine Eagles next week.

In other results....

W16B's went down 1-0 in a nail biting Final. Well done girls on a great season.

U21B's lost 2-1 after fighting back from a goal down to force extra time. Well done men on a great season.

Then on Sunday....

O45B's fell at the final hurdle 2-1 in a super impressive result. Well done men, A grade is over-rated.

All Age 5's trailed 1-0 for most of the match before conceding a couple of late ones to go down 3-0. Well done fellas, it was a great season, you should be proud.

The Mighty All Age 12's went down 2-0 to bow out of the finals race.

And finally on Sunday, the Magpies Women's Premier League scored in extra time to lead 1-0 before a late free kick goal tied the game at 1-1 and gave the fans more heart attacks after the Matilda's game. Magpies being 3rd place advance with the draw over Gymea 2's 4th place finish. Our Magpies Premier League face Gymea 1 next weekend to decide who meets Bosco in the Grand Final.

Congratulations to the W14C's, our 8th Grand Finalists and to the Women's Premier League for advancing and commiserations to all our other teams on impressive seasons.
